WARSAW — The WishBone Orthopaedic Foundation is a new not-for-profit organization headquartered in Warsaw. WBOF recently filed its 501(c)3 public charity paperwork with the Internal Revenue Service.

WishBone Orthopaedic Foundation is a not-for-profit global organization that supports pediatric orthopaedic missions. Through donations from individuals and corporate sponsors, WBOF purchases the necessary implants and instruments to be used during medical mission trips throughout the world. The foundation’s commitment is to focus the attention and donations to help children who need orthopedic surgery.

“Many young children in these countries are unable to get the medical attention they need at an early age. Their societies toss them away and abandon them because of their deformities,” says Marlin Stutzman, President of WBOF. He adds, “As WBOF continues to grow, we’ll be able to help these children so that they can enjoy the best life available to them in their home countries.”

WBOF will partner with WishBone Medical and other medical device companies who develop innovative implants and instruments in sterile packed, single use disposable kits. 

“The use of single use kits is a win-win for performing surgeries in areas where surgical facilities do not meet sanitary requirements. These products are ideal for mission trips,” states Allison McSherry, executive director of operations.

WBOF is kicking off its fundraising campaign and can accept donations prior to the end of 2017. Donors will receive a receipt indicating that the organization has a pending 501(c)3 application with the IRS; once approved, the monetary donation will be tax deductible. If interested in donating, please visit www.WBOF.org or email [email protected].
