Alice Annette Calais
Alice Annette Calais, 87, Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 in the Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home.
Alice was born on Aug. 27, 1930 in Chicago, Ill. to Sigwald L. and Edith A. (Larson) Calais. Alice was a graduate of West High School class of 1947. Alice lived in Donaldson for many years before moving to Plymouth. She was a faithful member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Donaldson, where Alice was so loved by her church family. She was employed with the Pilot News Agency for 49 years before her retirement in 1997. The family wishes to extend a special “thank you” to the staff at the Pilgrim Manor nursing home for the loving care of Alice.
Those left to cherish Alice’s memory are her niece, Diane and Gary Gerhart of Norco, Calif. and her beloved church family who cared for her deeply. Alice is preceded in passing by her parents, and her only sibling, her sister, Anita Hallquist.
A funeral in honor of Alice will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20 in the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street Plymouth, IN 46563, with Pastor Mark Harder officiating. Burial will follow the service in the New Oak Hill Cemetery.
A time of visiting will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 20 in the Van Gilder Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
