Gerald F. Emmons Sr. — UPDATED
Gerald “Jerry” F. Emmons Sr., 73, Madison, Fla., and formerly of Rochester, passed away at 12:05 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018.
On Dec. 18, 1944, Emmons was born in Logansport to Chester B. and Mary Etta Mollencupp Emmons. Growing up he shared his childhood with his sister Linda. With great Indian pride he graduated from Kewanna High School in 1962.
Gifted with his hands, Emmons had great expertise with tool and die working as a machinist for printing companies including Cuneo Printing of Kokomo. He was also a member of the Eagles #255 of Kokomo.
Left to cherish memories of Emmons include five sons: Anthony B. Emmons and wife Dorothy, Rochester; Gerald F. “Rick” Emmons Jr., Rochester; Andrew D. Emmons and wife Tammy, Logansport; Mark A. Emmons and wife Kim, Greenwood; Jeffrey D. Emmons and wife Tina, Kokomo; one daughter, Sunshine Henson-Baker and husband Michael, New Orleans, La.; a sister, Linda Harrold and companion Phil Collins, Warsaw; mothers of his children: Carolyn Glaze and Rebecca “Becky” Howell; numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Preceding Emmons in death are his parents; wife Nancy Emmons in 2013; a son, Stephen E. Emmons on May 15, 2000; a sister, Paulette Radarstorf; and a brother, Michael Raderstorf, both in 1969.
Private family services will be held. Interment will be in the Kewanna IOOF Cemetery.
