LCA Basketball: McDaniel, Cougars Exact Revenge
WINONA LAKE – After losing the first two matchups, Lakeland Christian needed to make a change. Josh McDaniel was able to do just that.
McDaniel dropped a career-best 30 points and his Cougars were able to fight off South Bend Trinity for a 56-49 win Saturday night in boys buckets.
McDaniel, who also hit the 30-point mark in LCA’s sectional loss last March against Fort Wayne Blackhawk, dropped four triples and scored 17 points in the second half.
Jake Harmon and Landon Twombly each added six points for the Cougars, which lost to Trinity in both the Bethany and LCA tournaments in December.
Eli Thomas led the Titans with 16 points and Dave Loughran dropped in 15 points.
LCA moves to 5-7 on the season and owns a mini three-game winning streak heading into Tuesday’s game at Granger Christian.
