Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
9:56 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, West CR 600S and CR 450W, Claypool. Driver: Kayla B. Merley, 17, West CR 600S, Claypool. Merley’s vehicle slid through the T intersection hitting two signs. Damage up to $5,000.
4:59 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, West CR 900N, east of North Orn Road, Milford. Driver: Kyra M. Berkeypile, 20, Penny Lane, Nappanee. Berkeypile suffered a contusion/bruise to the elbow/lower arm. Passengers: Sophia Berkeypile, 2, Nappanee and Chloe Taylor, infant, Nappanee, were not injured. Berkeypile’s vehicle went off the roadway and went through a culvert. While her vehicle was off the roadway, a semitractor/trailer later left the roadway and rolled on top of the Berkeypile vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
8:58 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, North CR 500E, south of East Defreese Road, Syracuse. Driver: Collin D. Thomas, 16, East CR 650N, Syracuse. The rear tire on Thomas’s vehicle dropped off the shoulder of the road, causing his vehicle to begin to slide. The vehicle went off the roadway, into a ditch and began to roll at least two times before hitting a utility pole. Thomas suffered minor injuries, bruises and lacerations to the knee/lower leg and was transported by private vehicle to the hospital. Brady D. Claassen, 16, East Cardinal Drive, Syracuse, a passenger, also sustained minor injury complaining of back and neck pain, was taken to the hospital by his parents. Damage up to $10,000.
2:22 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, South CR 700E and East CR 950S, Warsaw. Driver: Jessica L. Hook, 18, South CR 700E, No. 43, South Whitley. Hook lost control of her vehicle due to ice and snow on the roadway and went into a ditch. Damage up to $2,500.
10:18 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, North CR 300E, north of East CR 1300N, Syracuse. Driver: Trysta J. Bright, 31, CR 29 Lot 18, Syracuse. Bright lost control of her vehicle, going off the road and hit a NIPSCO pole. Damage up to $10,000.
10:27 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, South SR 25, south of West CR 250S, Warsaw. Drive: Melissa Y. Coy, 39, North Morgan St., No. A, Mentone. Coy suffered an abrasion to the head, but refused medical treatment. Coy’s vehicle went off the roadway into a steep ditch with several trees and brush. Damage up to $10,000.
6:51 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, North Fox Farm Road, east of West US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Anthony L. DeLaughter, 48, North Mill St., North Manchester, and Michael L. Hagg, 56, South South Hill Drive, Silver Lake. The side mirror on DeLaughter’s vehicle hit the wing plow of the county highway plow truck, driven by Hagg, that was clearing the intersection of snow. Damage under $750.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
12:08 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, North Detroit Street, north of East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Sarah E. Kaser, 17, Autumn Trail, Warsaw, and Toni L. Zimmerman, 34, Country Club Drive South, Warsaw. Kaser’s view was blocked by a turning vehicle when she made a left turn and failed to see the Zimmerman vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
4:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, South Packerton Road and East CR 225S, Winona Lake. Drivers: Jeremiah D. Brewer, 32, East US 30 No. 52, Pierceton, and Deborah A. Rhodes, 51, Shawnee Drive, Warsaw. Brewer failed to see the Rhodes vehicle before entering the intersection. Damage up to $10,000.
Silver Lake
Officers with the Silver Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
6:08 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, South SR 15 and West CR 800S, Silver Lake. Driver: David M. Hoeppner, 28, Springhill Road, Warsaw, and Misty M. Black, 42, West CR 1150S, Akron. Hoeppner’s vehicle slid through the intersection onto SR 15 hitting the Black vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
9:58 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, North SR 13 south of North Nash Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Karmen D. Collins, 42, North 1200W, Cromwell. Collins attempted to avoid hitting a Kosciusko County Highway plow truck stopped in the road, causing her vehicle to slide of the road and hit a stop sign. Damage up to $2,500.
