Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
11:29 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, South SR 25, west of South CR 600W, Claypool. Driver: Matthew G. Rhines, 28, North Broadway Street B, Mentone. Rhines lost control of his vehicle going off the roadway, hitting a sign and going down a steep embankment. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
8:52 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, West Center Street and North Lake Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jacob D. Johnson, 26, West CR 500S, Claypool, and David M. Haney, 29, Mineral Springs Avenue No. 7, Winona Lake. Johnson’s vehicle slid when he attempted to stop but slid into the intersection and struck the Haney vehicle. Haney complained of neck pain but refused medical treatment at the scene. Damage up to $5,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:18 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, South CR 325E, south of East CR 100S, Warsaw. Christopher D. Rager, 44, West Main St., Warsaw, operating a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department vehicle. Rager attempted to turn into Tractor Supply and the vehicle slid on ice and struck the side of a covered concrete driveway marker. Damage up to $5,000.
10:18 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, Kings Highway and Kings Court, Winona Lake. Driver: Ryan G. Bricker, 38, East Wyland Creek Drive, Warsaw. Injured: Jackson T. Gould, 13, Winona Lake, suffered minor bleeding to the face. He was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital by a parent. Bricker lost control of his vehicle hitting the guard rail riding up on top of it. Damage up to $5,000.
Marshall
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 100 block US 31, south of 9A Road, Plymouth. Driver: Conway J. Elder, no age listed, Elizabeth Street, Kingsburry. Elder was transported to Memorial Hospital after complaining of head pain. Elder drove onto the bed of a wrecker, owned by Reichert and Knepp, and ramped off the wrecker, rolling over in midair landing on its top and sliding into the ditch. The wrecker driver Matt Riffel was getting the cable out to wrench out a vehicle in the median when the accident occurred. Elder was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by firefighters with Plymouth Fire Department.
