Wawasee Sports Wrap: Jan. 24
Boys Basketball
Wawasee lost its first game since mid-December Wednesday night, a 28-23 setback to Concord in freshman hoops.
Justin Castro finished with 12 points and Carr Reinhard chipped in six points for the Warriors, which rattled off seven straight wins before Wednesday’s defeat.
Wawasee is 13-3 overall with its next contest Monday at NorthWood.
Girls Basketball
Wawasee had it working in the girls freshman game against Concord, winning 27-12.
Tate Cowan stepped forward and led the Lady Warriors with eight points and Ava Harker sent in six points. Wawasee’s defense did the trick in the first half, holding Concord to just two points.
Wawasee moves to 5-4 overall and will take part in Saturday’s Northern Lakes Conference freshman tournament.
Middle School Basketball
Milford couldn’t find consistent scoring in a 32-10 seventh grade girls basketball loss to Fairfield. Avery Conley scored all 10 of the Milford points, but the Warriors didn’t get a point scored in the first or third quarter.
