Man In Car Stalks Woman From Valparaiso To Warsaw
KOSCIUSKO—A Valparaiso man was arrested after he followed a woman from Valparaiso all the way to Warsaw.
Rodney William Falls, 54, 306 Roosevelt Road, is being charged with stalking, a level 6 felony; and possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
On Feb. 13, a female subject called Kosciusko County dispatch and said that a male subject in a vehicle had been following her since Valparaiso. Dispatch told the subject to come to the Warsaw Police Department.
The female subject was driving from her residence in Hammond to Winona Lake. As she was driving, she noticed a car behind her in Valparaiso.
The car pulled up beside her at a traffic light, and the driver, Falls, waved at her. He brought his vehicle back behind the female subject’s and followed her.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, there were at least three times when she intentionally switched lanes. Falls would also change lanes, cutting off vehicles already in the lane to get directly behind her.
When the female subject arrived in Warsaw, she pulled into the Warsaw Police Department parking lot. Falls pulled in beside her, parking his vehicle in such a way that the female subject would have to walk past his vehicle to enter the building.
The female subject felt uncomfortable, so she left and drove around the block, with Falls following her in his vehicle. She pulled back into the police department lot, creating enough space so she could enter before Falls parked his vehicle.
Police questioned Falls, who said he was just driving to Warsaw, but wouldn’t give a reason as to why he was there. Falls admitted to following the female subject’s vehicle, saying that he didn’t know who she was.
While completing an inventory of Falls’ vehicle, police found three cellphones and a plastic bag of marijuana.
Falls was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 13, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
