Amateur Photographers Earn Recognition
The Warsaw Community Public Library held it’s fifth annual Amateur Photography Contest. All 71 entries showed a lot of talent.
The grand prize and first-place winner in the color category was “Cracked Beauty” by Emily Propp. Second place was “November” by Steve Olsen. Third place was,“Mountain Pasture” by Steve Olsen.
In the black and white category, first place was awarded to “Engine 765” by Jim McLean. Second place went to Connie Ashenfelter for “Grandma’s Hands.” Third place was awarded to “Wheel” by Amber Graves.
The grand prize for the contest was a 16×24-inch canvas package donated by Blosser’s Camera Portrait Studio. Other prizes included gift cards from Walmart.
The members of the judging panel included Desiree Meadows, Blosser’s Camera Portrait Studio; Gary Nieter, Times Union; and Rick Zydek, Photography Unlimited.
The Photographs will be on display downstairs in the Hall of Fame Ramp and upstairs in the Adult Area at Warsaw Community Public Library until Jan. 31, 2013. You can see the winners with their photographs on the Warsaw Community Public Library Facebook page.
