Wesley Lynn ‘Wes’ Darting
Wesley Lynn “Wes” Darting, 57, Milford, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018, in his home. He was born on Sept. 28, 1960, in Topeka, Kan. to Richard Ream and Jane A. (Miller) Ream.
He attended Sand Creek High School, graduated in 1978 from Chippewa Hills High School in Remus, Mich. and attended Lenawee Vo-Tech to learn machinist trade. He served in the United States Coast Guard for five years aboard the Ice Breaker Polar Sea and was married on June 11, 2016 in Milford, to Wendi D. Street who survives. He moved to Milford two years ago from Adrian, Mich. and was formerly employed at Hoosier Industrial Supply in Goshen as a machinist.
He was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church in Goshen where he loved serving people on Wednesday nights and First Friday church activities. He was a man of many trades, was very smart, and could fix most things. He was a great story teller and could entertain listeners for hours. His greatest love was bass fishing & golfing and to beat his sons at it. The three of them had stories to tell about golfing, who had the best score, and lost the most balls. He always wanted to catch the biggest fish and win the tournaments which he did several times.
He is survived by his wife, Wendi Darting, Milford; daughter, Christina Darting, Lewsiburg, Tenn.; son, Jacob (Rachel) Darting, Nashville, Tenn.; Isaac Darting, Cullman, Ala.; two grandchildren: Brycin and Taylin, Lewisburg, Tenn.; parents: Dick and Jane Ream, Clayton, Mich.; two sisters: Jeanetta (Kerry) Ingold; Amanda (Travis) Boring; step-son: Connor Rummel; four nieces: Kaitlynn (Shane) O’Brien, Kathryn Boring, MacKenzie Ream and Saydie Boring; two nephews: Mitchell (Kelsey) Ingold, Pennsylvania and Ethan Boring; mother-in-law: Susan Street
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, at The Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, 110 S. 5th St., Goshen. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. in the church on Saturday with Pastor Terry Miller officiating.
Visitation will also take place from 10:-11 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, at First Nazarene Church in Adrian, MI. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the First Nazarene Church. Burial will follow in the Dover Township Cemetery in Clayton, Mich.
