Warsaw Softball: Tigers Take Season Opener
SOUTH BEND – Courtney Chookie gave up just one earned run over seven innings to help Warsaw to a 5-3 softball victory at South Bend Riley Monday night.
Chookie gave up six hits and struck out seven in the complete game.
Isabelle Dittmer got Warsaw on the board in the third with an RBI triple, and the Tigers took the lead for good in the fourth on an error and wild pitch.
Warsaw managed just three hits in the game, but drew four walks and were helped by four Wildcat errors.
Bailey Johnson struck out 10 and drove in a run for the Wildcats.
Warsaw (1-0) will visit Mishawaka Wednesday afternoon.
