Local Artist’s Work Selected For Statehouse Display
NORTH MANCHESTER — A Statehouse ceremony honoring Hoosier women artists throughout Indiana featured artwork by North Manchester resident Susan Ring.
As part of Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch’s Hoosier Women Artists 2018 initiative, Ring’s work called Looking Up, was selected to be displayed in the lieutenant governor’s office at the Indiana Statehouse.
Her piece of art will be shared with Statehouse visitors throughout the next year.
Ring said the trees behind her home provide a never-ending source of inspiration and she wanted people to be reminded of their own personal experiences when viewing the painting.
The Hoosier Women Artists annual competition celebrates Women’s History Month in March and features a variety of graphic arts including drawing, painting and photography.
