Two Iron Pride Robotics Teams Competing In Louisville
SYRACUSE — Fittingly, after being ranked first in the world skills standings for at least part of the school year and currently ranked second, the Wawasee Iron Pride robotics team known as Centurion, or also Team 574C, will be competing in the VEX Robotics World Championship beginning Thursday, April 26, in Louisville. Centurion includes Joe Kelsheimer, Nick Murphy, Evan Rassi and Micah Rassi.
They will be joined in Louisville by Team 574F, Valkyrie, consisting of freshmen Taylor Fiedeke and Vanessa Wright who qualified during the state tournament March 10 in Indianapolis.
The world championship will take place at the Louisville Exposition Center where 600 high school teams from 40 countries are expected to attend.
Centurion will compete in the science division and is scheduled to compete at 4, 5:06 and 5:44 p.m. Thursday, 10:15 a.m., 12:58, 1:40, 3:10 and 3:55 p.m. Friday and 9:01 and 10:34 a.m. Saturday. Valkyrie will compete in the engineering division and is scheduled to compete at 3:43, 4:50 and 5:28 p.m. Thursday, 10:09 and 11:12 a.m., 1:34, 2:28 and 4:22 p.m. Friday and 9:27 and 10:05 a.m. Saturday.

Also attending to support the two teams will be other robotics team members Joe LeCount, Dalin Powell, Davey Daffron, Wesley Hays, Noah Beckner, Nathan Smith, Ethan Hays, Gage Beezley, Connor Byrd, Braxton Studabaker, Aarron McKinney, Mandi Mall, Adrieanna Yoder, Alison Cole, Tess Helfers, Norah Miller and Makenna Tharp.
