Valley Sports Wrap: May 14
Baseball
Tippecanoe Valley baseball picked up its second straight Three Rivers Conference win with a 7-0 victory over visiting North Miami Monday night.
Adam Myers surrendered just four hits while striking out 11 during six shutout innings, and Ethan Yates finished off the shutout giving up one hit and one walk coming in to close in the seventh.
Yates also went 3 for 3 at the dish with a double, two RBIs and a run, and Tucker Shull collected two hits and two runs for the Vikings, who recorded nine hits to North Miami’s five in the win. The home team also benefitted from four errors by the Warriors, scoring a pair of unearned runs in the win. Valley plated three runs in the second, then added two more in the third, more run support than Myers would ever need.
The Vikings improve to 5-14 overall and 2-6 in TRC play. North Miami slips to 6-15 and 3-5 in the conference.
