Warsaw Students Attend Mock Trial
WARSAW — Recently, two sections of the business law and ethics class at Warsaw Community High School and Warsaw Area Career Center went on a field trip to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
While there, students toured the squad room, 911 dispatch center, county jail, the intake and booking area.
After the tour, students participated in a mock trial in a courtroom of the county’s justice building. The mock trial was led by Brad Volz, chief deputy prosecutor, and Nicole Graham, deputy prosecutor. Students observed as Judge Torrey Bauer of the Kosciusko City Superior Court presided over their trial.
Two other sections of the class participated in this field trip Friday, April 20, with the mock trial being led by Dan Hampton, county prosecutor.
The tours were led by Lt. Rick Shepherd and Capt. Chris McKeand of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
