WCHS Awards Students, Staff During Annual Tiger Way Convocation
WARSAW — Warsaw Community High School recently hosted the annual Tiger Way Convocation to honor students for outstanding achievements in academics and athletics as well as staff for positively impacting students’ lives and education. Numerous businesses assisted in providing awards for students including computers, gift cards, complimentary services, food and even a car.
Among the many prestigious awards given to students was the perfect attendance awards. Winners were selected randomly from 17 students who had a perfect attendance all of 2017-2018. Third place winner, with a $150 mini photoshoot with Jamie Plack Photography was Kyle Kuhn. The second-place prize was a $250 level one membership to CrossFit Haymaker awarded to Payton Green. The grand-prize winner was Benjamin Bolduc with a free Saturn from Lucky 7 Car Sales.
In addition to perfect attendance, students with the highest grade point averages were also entered into drawings at each grade level. At the freshman level, Bethany Gopefrich was awarded a shopping spree; Heather Rickert was awarded a computer; and Izabella Coffing, Caroline Hastings and Jillian Rackley were awarded gift cards. Sophomore winners included Mahalabella Gigous with a shopping spree; Abby Steffensmeier with a free computer; and Lia Perry, Toby Avey and Kayla Daniels with gift cards. Junior award winners included John Culbertson with a shopping spree; Cesar Buitrago with a computer; and Charissa Wilson and Kristen Coates with gift cards. Senior awardees were Kyle Rickert with a shopping spree; Morgan Smith with a computer; and Andrew Hawblitzel, Abigail Serbousek and Will McGarvey with gift cards.
