Yeo Leads Triton To Victory
BOURBON – The Triton boys basketball team began its march in search of another Bi-County Tournament title Tuesday night with a first-round win over Argos.
Senior star Clay Yeo led the way as the host Trojans topped the Dragons 50-28 in opening night play of the eight-team event, sponsored by Teachers Credit Union.
Yeo, an Indiana All-Star candidate and Valparaiso University recruit, poured in 24 points to lead the Trojans. Yeo also snared seven rebounds as Triton improved to 8-4.
Triton led 18-8 after the opening period and built a 32-14 halftime advantage Tuesday night en route to the dominating win.
Darren Harrell scored seven points and Tanner Shepherd and Seth Glingle each had six for Triton Tuesday night.
The Trojans have won three straight Bi-County Tourney championships in a row.
In other first-round games Tuesday night, Culver beat Bremen 65-57, Glenn topped Oregon-Davis 62-46 and LaVille defeated New Prairie.
Triton will face LaVille in a semifinal game Friday night at LaVille at approximately 8 p.m. The first semifinal Friday night at LaVille, set for 6:30 p.m., pits Culver versus Glenn.
The boys championship game is slated for Saturday at approximately 8:30 p.m. That contest will follow the girls title game, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at LaVille High School.
