Warsaw Woman Arrested For Strangling Minor
KOSCIUSKO — A Warsaw woman was arrested after strangling a male minor.
Peggy Mae Johnson, 46, 421 W. Porter St., Warsaw, is being charged with strangulation, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On May 22, dispatch advised officers that a child abuse report needed to be taken at the Warsaw Police Department.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, when officers arrived, they talked with the subject, a male minor. A second minor, along with their mother, were also present.
The subject told officers that he and Johnson were arguing when she became angry and pushed him into a door knob, causing him to experience hip pain. Johnson then put her hands around the subject’s throat, causing him pain and stopping his ability to breathe. The officer noticed redness and scratches on the subject’s neck.
Johnson told officers that she did grab the subject by the throat and that the marks on his neck were from her hands.
She was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on June 8, with a $2,500 surety and cash bond.
