Solid Waste District Board Eyes 2019 Budget
WARSAW — Kosciusko County Solid Waste Management District’s board of directors met Tuesday, June 12, to begin discussing the preliminary 2019 budget.
“We are looking at adding an additional Household Hazardous Waste Coordinator to the warehouse to help with the volume increase over the years in electronics, mercury, and household chemicals,” said Tom Ganser, KCSWMD director. “Volume for the free TV recycling for Kosciusko County has been good in May, 2018 and gaining momentum.”
Ganser said the television program is scheduled to end after July 2018.
The board also discussed the possibility of the recycling depot to become a collection point for Changing Footprints, a non-profit shoe recycler.
“KC Recycling would help organize drop-off locations around the county and in return would be able to supply local organizations with a supply of gently-used shoes,” Ganser said.
