Woman Charged After Threatening, Throwing Items At Officers
KOSCIUSKO — A Muncie woman is facing charges after verbally attacking and making threats toward one law enforcement officer and throwing a portable breath test at another officer.
Leah Nicole Alexander, 36, 2309 W. Memorial Drive, Muncie, is being charged with intimidation of a law enforcement officer, a level 6 felony; battery of a law enforcement officer, a level 6 felony; and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on May 18, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a location in Kosciusko County in reference to a verbal fight. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with Alexander, who advised that she and the person she was staying with got into an argument and that she was no longer welcome there.
As the officer was attempting to assist Alexander in finding a place to stay for the night, Alexander reportedly began engaging in tumultuous conduct, becoming rude and verbally attacking the officer. At that time, the officer advised Alexander that she was being placed under arrest.
While Alexander was being transported to the Kosciusko County Jail, she made a threat to commit a forcible felony to the officer. Upon arrival at the jail, Alexander threw a portable breath test at another law enforcement officer in a rude, insolent or angry manner, striking the officer in the chest.
Alexander was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail May 19, on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
