Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
9:15 a.m. Monday, July 16, North CR 850E, west of East Hatchery Road, Syracuse. Driver: Raistlin W. Rice, 23, West CR 500S, Mentone. Rice advised he was westbound on Hatchery Road in a Kosciusko County dump truck pulling a trailer with a wood chipper attached to it. Rice advised it began to rain, and his vehicle started to fishtail. The truck spun around, with the trailer ending up on its side. Damage up to $25,000.
6:30 a.m. Monday, July 16, West SR 14, west of South CR 500W, Silver Lake. Driver: Jackie S. Caudill, 68, East Center Street, Akron. Caudill’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
6:09 a.m. Monday, July 16, East CR 500N, near Brown Road, North Webster. Driver: Brandon L. Reed, 43, East Backwater Road, North Webster. Reed was traveling west on CR 500N when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:15 p.m. Friday, July 13, North SR 15, near West CR 1000N, Milford. Drivers: Alexis R. Henry, 22, Robin Drive, Warsaw; and Stephanie L. Olson, 51, Gable Drive, Warsaw. Olson’s vehicle rear-ended Henry’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:20 p.m. Monday, July 16, East CR 75N, north of North CR 175E, Warsaw. Drivers: Diana S. Meza, 18, East CR 200N, Warsaw; and Randy D. Hapner, 60, Lynn Lane, Warsaw. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Damage up to $5,000.
12:39 p.m. Monday, July 16, East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Stacy N. Prater, 29, Anchorage Road, Warsaw; and Brandi R. Iverson, 36, King Arthur Trail, Cromwell. Prater’s vehicle struck Iverson’s vehicle as Prater was backing out of a parking space. Damage up to $2,500.
6:19 a.m. Monday, July 16, US 30, east of Orthopedic Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Jonathan L. Strauder, 24, Olde Village Road, Norwalk, Ohio; and Michael R. Howard, 74, Ross Street, Highland. Strauder advised that he was traveling west on US 30 behind Howard’s vehicle when Howard suddenly slammed on his brakes. Strauder stated he attempted to avoid a collision by traveling off the right side of the roadway. Strauder’s vehicle struck a dolly attached to the truck Howard was driving. After striking the dolly, Strauder’s vehicle went through a ditch and a chain link fence and into the parking lot of Fort Wayne Orthopedic Center. EMS was called to the scene to evaluate Howard, who advised he could not remember the accident or anything that led up to the accident. Howard was transported by EMS to Kosciusko Community Hospital for further medical evaluation. A witness stated that Strauder’s vehicle was in the left lane prior to the accident, and that Howard’s vehicle was in the right lane. The witness stated that Strauder’s vehicle began to transition to the right lane and may not have seen the dolly attached to Howard’s vehicle. Damage up to $50,000.
