Rain Slows Baseball Tourneys
Rain across the region throughout Saturday put a halt to several tournament games in both the Town & Country State Finals and the BPA World Series.
The BPA World Series at the CCAC in Warsaw came to a standstill on Saturday, where all three brackets of the tournament were postponed to Sunday due to steady rain. Play in both the getback brackets and the winner’s brackets will resume Sunday in an attempt to conclude the tournament.
The Town & Country tournaments did have a handful of games finish before rain washed out several others. The entire slate of games at Akron’s 8U tourney were washed out by rain and will pick back up Sunday. The 10U tourney at Oak Hill had Rossville beat Plymouth, but Plymouth rally for a win over NorthWood in the elimination round. North Miami knocked out Rochester and Flora was ahead of Oak Hill before the heavy rains halted play. Monticello’s 12U tourney got in its games with Flora knocking out North Judson and Delphi eliminating Fairfield Gold. In the winner’s bracket, Fairfield Blue beat Williamsport and Madison-Grant topped Plymouth.
