Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:24 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, North East Wawasee Drive, south of East CR 1250N, Syracuse. Drivers: Maria E. Miller, 19, West CR 1350N, Nappanee; and Oscar C. Haro, 52, South Martin Street Lot 28, Ligonier. Miller was traveling south on North East Wawasee Drive when she fell asleep, crossed the rail road tracks and struck Haro’s vehicle. Miller’s vehicle struck Haro’s head-on. When Haro exited his vehicle to check on Miller, his vehicle began to roll backwards and ended up in a ditch on the east side of the roadway. Damage up to $25,000.
3:25 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, East Henry Street, near North Lake Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Doris L. Coburn, 87, North Dolan Drive, Syracuse; and Eric Espinoza, 18, East Pixie Parkway, Cromwell. Coburn was traveling east on East Henry Street when she stopped at a stop sign. She did not see Espinoza’s vehicle traveling north on North Lake Street, and she pulled out in front of him. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:31 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, North Parker Street, near East US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Michael A. Compton, 45, Glad Street, Warsaw; and Julia A. Schue, 86, Sally Street, Warsaw. Compton was traveling south on North Parker Street when he attempted to stop, but his brakes did not function properly. He rear-ended Schue’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
3:55 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, East Main Street, near North Bronson Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Dorothy C. Frazier, 77, Rivercrest Drive, Warsaw; and Susana P. Vega, 19, East Clark Street, Warsaw. Frazier was traveling south on North Bronson Street and had stopped at an intersection. She did not see Vega’s vehicle when she continued across the intersection to continue on North Bronson Street. Damage up to $2,500.
3:23 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, East Market Street, near South Bronson Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Beverly J. Miller, 68, East CR 450S, Warsaw; and Priscilla M. Waidley, 77, East Arthur Street F4, Warsaw. Miller was traveling north on South Bronson Street when she quickly accelerated through an intersection. She struck Waidley’s vehicle, which was traveling eastbound on East Market Street. Waidley complained of pain in her neck and was transported to the hospital by EMS. Damage up to $5,000.
