North Pointe Cinemas, Texas Roadhouse Approved For Alcoholic Beverage Permits
KOSCIUSKO — North Pointe Cinemas and Texas Roadhouse were approved for alcoholic beverage permits during today’s Alcohol and Tobacco Commission meeting.
David Knoerzer, general manager of North Pointe Cinemas; Nicholas Joyner, partner with Mallers Joyner Cinemas LLC; and Laura Kaufman, attorney representing Mallers Joyner Cinemas LLC, were all present at the meeting.
Knoerzer informed the board that the theater plans to create a physical bar that will sell wine to customers. Individuals who purchase wine will be required to wear a brightly colored wristband. There will be no alcohol served in rated G or PG films before 6 p.m.
State Excise Officer April Tackett requested a more detailed floor plan of the theater. The permit was approved and is pending final approval since a second floor plan and final inspection must be completed.
Greg Genrich, representing Texas Roadhouse, was also present at the meeting for a license transfer. The restaurant will be the 11th location in Indiana and is expected to open in the late first quarter of the year. An inspection of the building will be done once the building is fully constructed. The board approved the transfer.
Anna Jones and Sarah Trout, co-owners of Board and Brush Warsaw, were approved for an alcoholic beverage permit. The business allows customers to create DIY projects in three-hour instructional classes while enjoying a glass of wine. Jones and Trout said a grand opening date for the business will be announced next week.
Bulldog Saloon’s alcoholic beverage permit was approved with some stipulations. The permit has been in escrow for more than five years and must be renewed or transferred by Dec. 31.
Jared Pagan, owner of Bar 13 in Pierceton, was present at the meeting regarding a violation. Six months ago, Pagan sold alcohol to a minor and was fined. This is the company’s only violation. The permit was approved.
Petro Christos, owner of Boathouse Restaurant in Winona Lake, also addressed the board about a violation. A bartender had an expired license. Both Christos and the bartender were fined.
“We’ve really tightened up our controls and are doing a lot more checks with permits,” said Christos. The permit was renewed.
