Menards Employee Arrested For Making Purchases With Customer’s Merchandise Credit Card
WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was arrested after creating a merchandise credit card for a customer and using it to purchase items from Menards.
Perla Joceline Ayala, 22, 3762 E. Old Road 30 685, Warsaw, is being charged with two counts of theft.
On July 11, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department was dispatched regarding a theft from Menards. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a store manager.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, an employee, identified as Ayala, admitted to knowingly or intentionally exerting unauthorized control over money from Menards.
Ayala created a merchandise credit card for a customer returning an item and never gave the customer that credit card. She used the card to purchase items from the store.
She has a prior conviction of theft in Kosciusko County and was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Sept. 16, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
