Homecoming Week At Wawasee High School
SYRACUSE — Fall has arrived and the first full week of the season also happens to be homecoming week at Wawasee High School. Homecoming week (Sept. 24-28) includes many student activities throughout the week.
Monday is Costume Day and the talent show at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Tuesday will bring out the retro look as it is ’70s & Hippie Day. Wednesday is Beach Day and then the popular Capture the Flag game at 7 p.m.
Thursday is Twin Day. Friday, as is the norm, will be a busy day. It is Green & Gold Day (school colors) and there is a pep rally at 2:10 p.m. Up to this point, the events are not open to the public but the cookout from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the high school parking lot will be open to the public.
The homecoming parade is, of course, open to the public and begins at 4:30 p.m. It will begin at the Syracuse Community Center then follow Long Drive to Main Street to Syracuse-Webster Road and then turn into the high school parking lot. From there it will go to Syracuse Elementary School where it will end.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Friday for the homecoming football game at Warrior Field against county rival Warsaw. At halftime of the game, the homecoming king and queen will be crowned. After the game there is a dance until 11:30 p.m.
