Warsaw Community Career Center Announces October Events
WARSAW — The Warsaw Community Career Center will host the following events in October. The Career Center is adjacent to the Goodwill retail store at 751 Anchorage Point Drive, Warsaw. All Career Center events are free and open to the public.
The Warsaw Career Center offers monthly workshops that can be completed in increments, with assessments and certifications upon completion. This is the place to prepare yourself for a growing business and manufacturing world that demands more digital literacy and online tech skills.
Job Fair
- Wednesday, Oct. 3 — noon to 2 p.m.
The Goodwill Career Center is having a job fair from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3. Representatives from the following businesses will be in attendance: Adecco hiring for Zimmer Biomet and LSC Communications, Meijer, Shiloh Industries and Alexander Dennis. All are hiring with positions that need to be filled as soon as possible. Dress professionally and bring an updated résumé to better your chances of landing a job.
Open Practice Interviews
- Tuesday, Oct. 9 — 11 a.m. to noon
- Monday, Oct. 29 — 11 a.m. to noon
The Goodwill Career Center will host open mock interviews for anyone who would like to practice their interview skills. If you’re nervous about being interviewed or struggling to land a job because of the process, these mock sessions will prepare you for the types of questions, from basic to personal, that may be asked of you. We’ll discuss how to answer the difficult questions and what to avoid. You’ll also learn how to appear confident and highlight your skills in the conversation. Another topic will be how personal appearance makes a great first impression Please choose a date and time to stop by and practice your interview skills and receive a 25 percent discount to the Goodwill retail store.
Veterans Employment Services
- Thursday, Oct. 18 — 10 a.m. to noon
Daniel Reed from Work One will be at the Goodwill Career Center to provide information for veterans on services in the local area. He will offer one-on-one employment help, employer resources, information on benefits and contacts for further services.

- Tuesday, Oct. 23 — 11 a.m. to noon
Learn how to successfully search Indeed.com to locate the job you are looking for. We’ll show you how to search more effectively and create a dynamic profile to broaden or narrow what you’re looking for. You’ll also learn how to apply for positions by attaching résumés, getting the appropriate details on the applications or via the simple ‘Apply’ button on Indeed.com. Master the most powerful and commonly used job search website.
Google Apps For Better Business
- Thursday, Oct. 25 — 11 a.m. to noon
Google is more than a search engine; it’s a one stop shop for business needs, education, and communication. Learn how to use Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and how to better use Gmail. A lot of businesses are switching or are already using Google applications to run their daily operations and to better share data and collaborate on projects. Google apps allow you to simultaneously work on projects with your team members. We’ll show you how, but first we’ll introduce you to the apps and how they work.
