Scott Township Board and Trustee Face Uncontested Fall Election
KOSCIUSKO — The Scott Township Advisory Board members and Township Trustee face no competition in the upcoming fall election. Republican incumbents for the Advisory Board include Tom Beeson and John Mast. The Democrat incumbent for the board is Paul Parks. The Democrat incumbent for Scott Township Trustee is Fred Slabaugh.
The upcoming election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
John Mast
Mast has been on the Scott Township Advisory Board for approximately six years and is a Nappanee resident.
“Since we’re a smaller township, we don’t have as large of a group to focus on,” said Mast. “We plan to continue running the board the way we are.”
Fred Slabaugh
This will be Slabaugh’s eleventh term as Scott Township Trustee.
Slabaugh has lived in the Nappanee area his entire life and is a retiree. He has three daughters and four grandchildren.
“The family aspect of the work has always been very important to me,” said Slabaugh. “I’ve lived within a mile of where I was born all my life. There are few who need township assistance in the area, but it’s always very difficult to see some of those situations where families are in need.”
Slabaugh said he will continue to make sure the township runs smoothly.
