Washington Township Board And Trustee Face Uncontested Fall Election
KOSCIUSKO — The Washington Township Advisory Board members and Township Trustee face no competition in the fall election. Republican incumbents for the Advisory Board include Bryan Bidwell, James Craig, and Roger S. Thomas. The Republican incumbent for Washington Township Trustee is Dean Rhoades.
Bryan Bidwell
Bidwell has lived in the Pierceton area for 57 years.
He discussed the importance of keeping taxes low for township citizens.
“Everyone’s wanting to tax you for this and this, and I feel like people focus too much on taxes,” said Bidwell. “There’s too much wasted spending, and I want to continue to work to improve how the people’s tax dollars are used.”
Dean Rhoades
This is Rhoades’ 16th year serving as Washington Township Trustee. He also formerly served as an advisory board member and volunteer fireman. Rhoades has lived in the Pierceton area his entire life.
“I feel a certain pride in what we as a township have accomplished thus far,” said Rhoades. “I want to continue to keep the tax rate low while continuing to fulfill the needs of those living in the area.”
Rhoades emphasized the importance of being conscientious of taxpayers while acting as a public servant.
“I view politics and the position of township trustee as separate entities,” said Rhoades. “To me, the township trustee is a position focused on the community and its well-being, not politics.”
