Police Say Mentone Man Harassed Ex-Girlfriend, Fired Shots At Man’s Vehicle
MENTONE — A Mentone man was placed under arrest when police reported he fired shots at another man’s vehicle and also rammed the vehicle with his own car.
Kevin Franklin Good, 21, 5915 W. Martin Drive, Mentone, was charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, a level 6 felony; criminal mischief, a class B misdemeanor; and failure to stop after an accident, a class B misdemeanor. He is scheduled for an initial hearing in Kosciusko County Superior Court III om Thursday, Oct. 25.
According to police, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call from a woman on Oct. 5 who reported that her ex-boyfriend had shown up at her residence uninvited after phone calls and texts to her had gone unanswered.
The woman told police that on that morning, Good arrived at her residence and after being told to leave, began firing shots from a .45 caliber Springfield handgun into the vehicle of a man who was present at the scene. The woman told police she again told Good to leave, at which time he ran his vehicle into the vehicle in which he had fired the shots.
Officers drove to Good’s residence in Mentone and took him into custody. Police said that Good’s mother told officers that Good had admitted to firing shots into the vehicle.
