Stay Thirsty, My Friends; North Webster Man Charged After Allegedly Stealing Beverages
NORTH WEBSTER — A North Webster man is facing charges after allegedly taking items from a store without paying for them.
Bradley Ray Slone, 31, 208 S. Harrison St., North Webster, is being charged with theft, a class A misdemeanor; and sentence enhancement theft, a level 6 felony.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Aug. 28, North Webster police responded to a report of a theft at the New Market Grocery Store. Police spoke with the store manager, who advised he had store surveillance video of a male concealing two containers of beverage inside his jacket and exiting the store without paying for the items. An officer who viewed the video recognized and identified the person stealing the beverages as Slone.
On Aug. 31 a North Webster police officer conducted an interview with Slone. According to the officer’s report, when questioned about the theft, Slone responded, “I’m broke as f***, don’t have a job, I was thirsty, hungry and they’re lucky I didn’t take them for as much as I could.”
Slone was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 12 on a $5,750 surety and cash bond.
