Flannery Takes A Plea In Molestation Case
A Milford man arrested in October for felony child molesting was in court this morning to accept a plea deal.
Kent Adam Flannery, 31, was charged for molesting a family member on Oct. 18, 2012. Child Protective Services brought the information to the police and indicated the incidents had possibly been occurring since 2008.
Police interviewed Flannery who admitted to approximately 20 incidents of sexual contact, including several graphic incidences, with a female girl under the age of 14, dating back to 2008.
With his court-appointed attorney, Jay Rigdon present, Flannery withdrew his initial not guilty plea and agreed to plead guilty to a class A felony charge of child molesting and a class B felony charge of incest. In exchange for his plea, a third count of child molesting was dismissed.
Superior Court I Judge Duane Huffer told Flannery the class A felony would carry a sentence of 30 years and the class B felony would carry a term of 10 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
The court has taken the plea under advisement. Flannery will be back in court at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28. At that time, the court will either accept or reject his plea. If the plea is accepted, Flannery will be sentenced at that time.
Flannery is currently being held in the Kosciusko County Jail.
