Lakeview Celebrates Mental Attitude Winners
WARSAW – Lakeview announced its Mental Attitude award winners for its 2018 fall sports season.
For each of the fall sports, the respective coach offered comments on the winning recipient, which is shown below:
Girls Cross Country
“Mikayla Mimnaugh is the reason we like to coach. We have seen her through the best of times and also through her struggles. Mikayla has never given up and her can-do attitude will take her to the next level of competition. We are so proud of the season she had this year. Mikayla’s parents, Brion and Kim Mimnaugh have to be excited about their daughter’s future. Good luck, Mikayla!” – Coach Roy Navarro
Boys Cross Country
“Edward Robison has the opportunity to be a true leader. He is very cordial, works very hard to be a good teammate and a student. He also takes charge of the situation. Whether it be a race or at practice, this young man will simply amaze you. His parents, Dave and Sally Robison, have done an outstanding job raising their son. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.” – Coach Roy Navarro
7th Grade Volleyball
“Jael Namfukwe deserves this award because she would always try to encourage everyone and remind them to encourage as well. I heard her say many times, “Don’t give up, we can do it. I saw in her face how she would let the mistakes go, learn from them and move on. She also took the constructive criticism and used it to better herself. Jael would be positive and upbeat, even when they had to do drills they didn’t want to do or wouldn’t complain about the next task. She started off shy and timid but by the end of the season, she was a confident young lady that has grown tremendously.” – Coach Keri Cook
8th Grade Volleyball
“Tessa Graney was always excited to be at practice and games. She was focused and ready to play. Her smile brightened the teammates to always be better. She is an example of a positive scholar athlete.” – Coach Daisy Hollon
7th Grade Football
“Pierce Metze is one of the best teammates that I have seen. He is willing to do anything that is asked of him. He would play whatever position that we asked and he never complained. Pierce worked extremely hard everyday in practice and was always there to help. He is the kind of young man that Lakeview Middle School can be proud of to have as a student athlete.” – Coach Rocky Goshert
8th Grade Football
“Nehemiah Wright always did what he was asked to do all season with no complaints.” – Coach Ryan Seagert

“Shayne always did what was expected and went above and beyond. She was constantly working on her technique and always trying to improve.” – Coach Kayla King
