Warsaw Man Arrested For Strangulation At McDonald’s
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after police say he became enraged and strangled a victim at a local McDonald’s.
Alexander Glen Hurley, 18, 2115 E. Hendricks St., Warsaw, is being charged with strangulation, a level 6 felony, and battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Dec. 7, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a battery complaint at McDonald’s. The victim advised that he and Hurley were arguing when Hurley became enraged and grabbed him by the throat, squeezing to the point that the victim could no longer breath. The victim further advised that Hurley threw him to the ground and got on top of him. The officer was able to observe redness on the victim’s throat.
The officer also spoke with Hurley, who admitted he got angry and grabbed the victim by the throat. Hurley told the officer that he made a mistake and was sorry.
Video surveillance at McDonald’s recorded the incident. The video showed Hurley grab the victim by the throat in a violent manner. The video also showed Hurley holding the victim on the ground with his forearm across the victim’s throat.
Hurley was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 7, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond. He has an initial hearing scheduled for Dec. 27.
