Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
4:22 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, North SR 15 and CR 600N, Leesburg. Driver: Henry M. Hartley, 46, East Market Street, Warsaw. Hartley and a witness to the crash both told police that Hartley was driving his vehicle southbound on SR 15 and that his vehicle collided with the rear of a red or maroon SUV. Both people told police the driver of the SUV, a Hispanic female, drove away from the scene with the rear bumper of her vehicle hanging loose. Hartley was checked by EMS personnel at the scene and refused medical treatment. Damage up to $10,000.
7:22 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, South Kinsey Road, north of West Hoppus Road, Warsaw. Driver: Keeghan R. Williams, 18, South Julian Drive, Warsaw. Williams told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on Kinsey road when he entered a curve, lost control of his vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and strike several trees. Damage up to $5,000.
6:36 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, South Zimmer Road and Ford Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Tina L. Stiles, 58, East CR 550N, Rochester. Stiles told police she was driving her vehicle on Zimmer Road when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10:05 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, US 30, east of North Parker Street, Warsaw. Driver: Todd A. Hartle, 52, South CR 400W, Warsaw. Hartle told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on US 30 when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Glenn M. Shimasaki, 73, East CR 300N, Warsaw; Boyd J. Poe, 78, South Hummingbird Road, Claypool. Shimasaki told police he was in his vehicle in the Meijer parking lot, attempting to pull out of the parking lot when he did not turn properly and began to back up his vehicle, which collided with the front of Poe’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Winona Lake
Officers from the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
9:53 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, Wooster Road, west of CR 250E, Winona Lake. Driver: Sherilyn M. Rank, 62, South East Ridge Place, Warsaw. Rank, as well as a witness, told police she was driving her vehicle westbound when a gray pickup truck passed the witnesses vehicle, traveling eastbound. Rank told police the oncoming vehicle did not merge back into his lane and sideswiped her vehicle. She said the gray pickup truck should have damage to the driver’s side rear quarter panel. Damage up to $2,500.
