Official Charges Filed In Nappanee Child Molestation Case

KOSCIUSKO — More details have been revealed after official charging documents were filed in relation to a Nappanee man charged with child molesting.
Lester R. Chupp, 72, 13778 North CR 950W, Nappanee, is being charged with child molestation, a level 4 felony.
On Jan. 17, a minor female reported to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office that Chupp had touched her inappropriately when she was 10 or 11 years old.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the minor told an adult that between the ages of 9 and 13, Chupp was constantly asking to see specific parts of her body and sharing with her inappropriate sexual information. The adult further advised that Chupp admitted to him that he had touched the minor inappropriately on one occasion and asked to see a specific part of her body on another occasion.
An officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office spoke with Chupp. Chupp admitted to the officer that he inappropriately touched the minor when she was 12 years old. He also admitted to the officer that he had asked the minor to see a specific part of her body on another occasion.
Chupp was arrested on Jan. 23, and is being held on a $20,250 surety and cash bond.
