UPDATE — Five People Transported To Hospital Following Saturday Rollover Accident
WARSAW — Five people were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw Saturday, Feb. 23, after a driver failed to stop for a funeral escort and was struck by one of the vehicles in the procession.
The accident occurred at 12:44 p.m. at the intersection of North Parker Street and East US 30 in Warsaw.
Sokun Seraypheap, 51, East 8 Square Road, Warsaw, was traveling northbound on North Parker Street approaching US 30. Seraypheap’s vehicle proceeded through the intersection and was struck on the passenger side by a Chevrolet Cruze driven by Zari L. Silvestre, 21, College Avenue, Goshen.
The collision caused Seraypheap’s vehicle to roll onto its top.
Seraypheap complained of head, chest and left hand pain and was transported to KCH by ambulance for further treatment.
Silvestre complained of pain in both knees and her left hand. She was taken by ambulance to KCH for further medical treatment. Three passengers in Silvestre’s vehicle were also transported to KCH.
Ruby Rangel, 20, South 11th Street, Goshen, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was transported to KCH by a Warsaw police officer for complaint of left shoulder pain.
Virginia R. Romo, 18, College Avenue, Goshen, who was sitting in the rear passenger seat, was transported to KCH via ambulance with complaints of chest pain and right eye pain.
Araceli Romo-Aguilar, 35, College Avenue, Goshen, who was sitting in the rear driver side seat, was transported by ambulance to KCH with complaint of left arm pain.
Damages from the accident were estimated at up to $50,000.
