Mangas Earns Fourth POW Award
AVON, Ohio – For the second week in a row, and fourth time this year, Indiana Wesleyan’s Kyle Mangas was named the Crossroads League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Mangas played all 40 minutes and poured in 25 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals to push No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan to a 76-70 win over No. 11 MVNU in the Crossroads League Tournament Championship. Mangas scored 20 points after the intermission and ended 10-of-20 from the field. Mangas also had nine rebounds and five assists in the win, which helped Wesleyan repeat as league champs.
The Warsaw product had helped the Wildcats to a 28-5 and the No. 1 overall seed in the NAIA National Championship tournament. The defending national champions will take on Washington Adventist (Md.) in the first round on Wednesday, March 6, at 5 p.m.
