Adult Reading Programs On Tap At Syracuse Library
SYRACUSE — Summer reading for adults is starting this May at the Syracuse Public Library. The first program is an introduction about using bullet journaling to become more organized, creative and energized. Kim Blaha is sharing her bullet journal story on Tuesday, May 7 at 2:30 p.m.
The library will host a moon-watching event Saturday, May 18, starting at 8 p.m. along the shore of Syracuse Lake to Henry Ward Park. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars.
Patrons can use technology to save money on prescription medications. Jackie Franks, Purdue Extension educator, is showing how on Monday, May 20 at 1 p.m.
Reading Books
The Syracuse Public Library is taking part in the Kosciusko community read with a discussion of the book, “Bless Me, Ultima.” Cindy Cates is bringing ideas about this coming-of-age story on Tuesday, May 14 at 4:30 p.m. The story is about the history of changing cultures in Mexico and has won many awards since it was first published in 1974.
The author of, “Life at Johnson’s Bay Marina,” Becca Briscoe is having a book signing on Wednesday, May 15 at 1 p.m.
Author Ray Boomhower is speaking at the Syracuse Community Center on Saturday, May 25 at 11 a.m. He has written eleven historical biographies of Indiana-born famous people and copies are ready for pickup at the library.

Foodies can mingle and get salad-making ideas at Magnolia Cooking Club on Wednesday, May 8 at 4 p.m.
Decluttering Support group meets on Tuesday, May 7 and 21 at 1 p.m. Chair yoga meets on Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m. and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. after an optional on-the-trails walk at 9 a.m. Restorative yoga meets on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Knitting and crocheting continues to get together on Thursdays at 5 p.m.
