National Weather Service Issues Flood Warning
KOSCIUSKO — The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a flood warning for Tippecanoe River near Ora from Wednesday afternoon, May 1, to late Sunday night, May 5. Heavy rainfall in recent days has caused rivers to rise.
At 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, the stage was 11.3 feet and rising. Flood stage is 12 feet.
Forecast: The river will rise above flood stage Wednesday afternoon and crest near 12.9 feet around 8 a.m. Friday, May 3, and fall below flood stage around 5 a.m. Sunday, May 5.
This crest compares to a previous crest of 13.4 feet which occurred on Jun 15, 2013.
- Never drive vehicles through flooded areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage.
