Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:08 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, Meadow Lark Boulevard and West Lake Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Karen S. Loubert, 62, West Pike Street, Warsaw; and Anita L. Miller, 73, Rivercrest Drive, Warsaw. Loubert was driving a school bus and was making a turn onto Meadow Lark Boulevard. She stated she had to turn wide due to the length of the bus. Loubert stated that Miller’s vehicle was not at the intersection when she began to turn. Miller stated she was driving south on Meadow Lark Boulevard and that Loubert’s vehicle made a wide turn and struck her vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
1:12 pm. Wednesday, May 8, East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Anthony M. Cottrell, 30, East CR 300S, Warsaw; and Brooke C. Williams, 22, North SR 13, Syracuse. Cottrell’s vehicle rear-ended Williams’ vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
3:53 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, US 30, east of Springhill Road, Warsaw. Driver: David R. Murdock, 69, South Wallace Street, Chicago, Ill. According to the police report, Murdock stated that he was driving westbound on US 30 when a passenger in his vehicle, Melissa Muhammad, 48, Taft Place, Merrillville, exited the vehicle and began walking eastbound on the shoulder of US 30. Murdock stated he was trying to get Muhammad to get back inside the vehicle but she refused. Murdock stated that as he was backing up and trying to drive next to Muhammad, she changed direction, and the passenger side rear corner of the vehicle struck Muhammad, who was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for a neck injury. Damage up to $2,500.
