Legion Hosting Cruise-In Friday
SYRACUSE — The tradition of a May cruise-in in Syracuse will continue.
Syracuse American Legion Post 223 will be hosting a cruise-in for cars, trucks and motorcycles Friday, May 17. The event will be held at the Legion Post, 1008 S. Huntington St.
This will be a family event with food music and fun held from 5 to 8 p.m. on the access road in front of the Legion with spectator parking on the legion lot. The access road will be closed between the access road entrance at Burke’s motorcycle shop and Lynwood Drive and officials will be present to direct traffic and park participants vehicles.
Randy Rinker, event organizer for the Legion, stated he and others did not want to see the event die away and when no one else stepped up, the Legion stepped in to make it happen. The cruise-in will be open to any and all vehicles and is free. The first 50 vehicles to arrive at the event will receive dash plaques.
This cruise-in replaces the annual event which had been held in uptown Syracuse and hosted by the Wawasee Kiwanis Club. The local club announced in February it would be foregoing the annual Cruizin’ Cuse Car show not only this year, but in future years as well.
