Raiders, Minutemen Rule In All-NLC Baseball, Softball Lists
GOSHEN – Northridge were kings and Concord the queens as both teams headlined the All-Northern Lakes Conference baseball and softball lists for the 2019 season.
Ridge finished 12-2 in the NLC in baseball to stand alone as champions. Coach of the Year Andrew Brabender oversaw First Team All-NLC selections Davis Enfield, Drew Gayler, Carter Gilbert, Nick Logan and Hayden Nickell. Cam Waters and Ben Becker were named Honorable Mention All-NLC for the Raiders.
NorthWood finished second at 9-5 and had Cooper Davis, Alec Holcomb, Matt Dutkowski and Jack Wysong as All-NLC, and Jaden Miller and Trey Allman as Honorable Mention.
Plymouth (8-6) was third, with Cole Filson, Jesus Luva and Tim Tremaine as All-NLC and Jacob Deacon as Honorable Mention.
Wrapping up the First Team choices were Dominick Reyes and Skylar Reyes of Goshen (7-7), Levi Brown, Parker Young and Kam Salazar of Wawasee (7-7), Landon Lee and Dylan Rost of Elkhart Memorial (6-8), Liam Patton of Warsaw (6-8) and Drew McDougle of Concord (1-13).
Honorable Mention choices went to Austin Cain of Goshen, Carter Woody of Wawasee, Drew Pressler of Elkhart Memorial, Noah Burgh of Warsaw and Hunter Dutton of Concord.
Concord nearly ran the table in the softball round robins, going 13-1 to claim the team title. The Minutemen had Yadi Gomez, Alexis Kern, Alysa Marcin and Zoey Stender all named First Team All-NLC while Dawn Austin was tabbed Coach of the Year. Skylar Decker and Madison Loge were both Honorable Mention All-NLC selections for the Minutemen.
Northridge was a game back at 12-2, and had Meghan Bontrger, Allison Hostetler, Ashley Beckler and Madison Wienart named First Team All-NLC. Jenifer Robinson and Makenna Knepp were both Honorable Mentions.
Wawasee (10-4) were third in the standings, and the quartet of Faith Swihart, Beth Flannery, Graceanne Kerlin and Abi Smith were named First Team. Teammate Delaney Hare was named Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Wrapping up First Team choices were Cadence Lee, Amber Asher and Ashley Asher of Memorial (7-7), Olivia Koshmider, Brynn Shoup-Hill and Ashton Darnell of Goshen (7-7), Morgan Jenkins of NorthWood (4-10), Izzy Dittmar of Warsaw (3-11) and Amialla Wojcik of Plymouth (0-14).
Honorable Mention choices went to Makayla Snyder of Goshen, Shelby Weidner of Elkhart Memorial, Kennedy Hochstetler of NorthWood, Lindsey Bradley of Warsaw and Ann Anders of Plymouth.
