March Marks Red Cross Month
March is Red Cross Month and the Kosciusko Chapter of the American Red Cross invites you to uncover your inner hero by giving your time to help a neighbor, make a financial or blood donation, take a Red Cross CPR class or get trained to respond to local or national disaster responses.
“Like” The chapter’s Facebook page in March and receive a free Red Cross pin. Your name will also go into weekly drawings for free prizes like weather radios, smoke detectors, first aid kits and more.
Local Businesses with “March is Red Cross” month displayed on their business marquees or sign in their window will have donation cans located inside.
All donations stay in Kosciusko County to aid families who have experienced a house fire, to train volunteers, and to fund Red Cross Youth Programming like Scrubby Bear, Survivor Camp and Basic Aid Training in all Kosciusko County schools.
The Red Cross’ mission statement states, “The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.”
March Blood Drives will be held: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Center Lake Pavilion; 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Ivy Tech Community College; 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Lowe’s; and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at North Webster Church of God’s Fellowship Hall.
