BREAKING — Man Hurt When Truck Leaves Road, Strikes Parked Semi
SILVER LAKE — A man was injured and suffered lacerations to the face Thursday afternoon, June 13, when his red Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck slid off SR 15 and struck a semi that was approximately 30 feet off the road and listed for sale.
The accident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. as the vehicle, which was traveling on SR 15 northbound, began to hydroplane on the wet pavement, according to one of the first responders at the scene. The driver of the truck lost control and traveled approximately 40 feet through a grass area owned by Complete Fleet of Silver Lake, proceeding through the business’s sign and striking the semi, marked with the logo of Metzger Trucking Co.
According to the first responder, the man hit the windshield and suffered lacerations to the face. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
Responding to the accident were EMS units from Parkview, firefighters from Silver Lake and law enforcement officers from Warsaw and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies.
