Area Accident Reports
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
11:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, Higbee Street, north of Emeline Street, Milford. Drivers: Hector Gonzalez, 20, CR 40, Goshen; and James Truex, 80, EMS B48A Lane, Warsaw. Gonzalez reported that he was driving south on Higbee Street, approaching the intersection. He told the responding officer that he did not realize Truex’s vehicle was so close to him and Gonzalez’s vehicle rear-ended Truex’s vehicle. Damages up to $1,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
5:10 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 100 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Driver: Richard Gay, 67, Syracuse Webster Road, Syracuse. Gay pulled his vehicle into a parking lot, causing the trailer he was hauling to strike a parked car registered to Stephen Curtis Excavating, Cassopolis, Mich. Damages up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
9:06 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2575 E. Center St., Warsaw. Driver: David Franke, 66, 30th Street, South Sioux City, Ne. Franke was backing out of a parking space and did not realize the rear-hitch receiver and trailer ball of his vehicle struck a parked car registered to Elizabeth Vaden, Silver Lake. Franke later returned to the same vehicle. Later, the driver of the parked vehicle reported the damage and noticed Franke’s vehicle had paint transfer from the incident. Damages up to $2,500.
