Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
8:51 p.m. Monday, June 17, South CR 400W, south of Crystal Lake Road, Warsaw. Driver: Brittany N. Jones, 22, East CR 900S, Claypool. Jones told police she was driving north on CR 400W and when she came up over a hill she observed a parked car on the west side of the road and a black SUV parked on the east side of the road, in her path of travel. Jones attempted to maneuver between the two vehicles to avoid striking them. Her vehicle left the roadway and struck a fence post. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
2:22 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, Zimmer Road and Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Mark D. Wildman, 59, South CR 25W, Warsaw; and Brittany J. Hall, 27, Westwood Street, Warsaw. Wildman stated he was stopped at the intersection of Winona Avenue at a stop sign. A semi was attempting to make a wide turn, and Wildman’s vehicle was in the way. Wildman advised he checked his mirrors and did not see anyone so he began backing up. His vehicle backed into Hall’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
10:21 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, East Winona Avenue, near South Bronson Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Robert L. Vickery, 76, South Southwood Drive, Warsaw; and Jacob E. Hawn, 17, Westwood Road, Winona Lake. Vickery was attempting to travel northbound across East Winona Avenue at a red light when his vehicle was struck by Hawn’s. Damage up to $5,000.
10:03 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 102 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw. Drivers: Michael D. Wilson, 62, East CR 700N, Leesburg; and Karl R. Swihart, 58, Johnson Street, Knox. Wilson opened the door of his vehicle to exit. Wilson’s vehicle door collided with the passenger side mirror of Swihart’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
