Warsaw Man Arrested For Strangulation, Domestic Battery
KOSCIUSKO — A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly battering and strangling a woman.
Henry George Slater, 36, 5935 S. Woodland Lane, Warsaw, is being charged with strangulation and domestic battery with a child under 16 present, both level 6 felonies; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On May 28, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Kosciusko County Probation Office regarding a battery that occurred at a residence. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a female subject, who said on May 27, she and a male subject, identified as Slater, got into a verbal argument.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, during the verbal argument, Slater became physically abusive to the female, poking the female in the eyes and face and punching her in the face multiple times. The female fell and Slater began kicking her. He then picked the female up by the neck and placed his hands on her throat in a manner that made it difficult for her to breathe.
The female told the officer the altercation occurred inside a residence where a child was present and could have heard the altercation. The female also said the argument continued on May 28, during which Slater poked her bruises from the previous day and threw a smoking pipe at her.
The officer observed injuries on the female, including facial bruises, scratches on her neck, back and face, and redness on her hands and collarbone.
Slater was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on June 18, with a $4,000 surety and cash bond.
