Anglin Appointed As Etna Township Trustee
WARSAW — Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee Chairman Mike Ragan appointed Rita Anglin to complete the remaining term of the Etna Township Trustee position.
Gary Sponseller, the elected Republican trustee, resigned from the position due to moving out of the township.
Anglin did accounting for a business years ago and worked in the county auditor’s office in the 1980s.
“We congratulate Rita Anglin on this appointment and wish her well in her new position and are confident that she will serve the citizens of Etna Township with courtesy and professionalism,” said Ragan. “The Kosciusko County Republican Party expresses thanks to Gary Sponseller and are grateful to him for his many years of service.”
Anglin’s term will be effective July 20.
“I’m looking forward to getting started and learning the job,” said Anglin. “I’m also looking forward to meeting with Gary and learning about the township trustee position.”
Thursday’s announcement is the third Republican caucus used to fill vacancies in the Etna Green town government or Etna Township. In all three instances, there were not enough precinct committee members to vote on the candidates so Ragan made the decision after consulting with the lone precinct committee person.
In the past year, Ragan filled the town’s clerk-treasurer opening and then a town council opening.
