Tigers Promoting Bright Football Future
WARSAW – The Warsaw football program concluded a very successful Junior Tiger football camp on Friday at Fisher Field.
Warsaw had over 100 campers enrolled for the week-long gridiron sessions in grades 7-9, 107 campers the max number on any given day. Overseen by Warsaw varsity head coach Bart Curtis and his staff, the vaunted ‘flexbone’ offense was taught as well as defensive philosophy and kicking skill sets.
The camp offered a variety of drills, disciplines and competitions each day including bag carries, tug-of-war, punt catching and a shuttle run.
Campers consists of a variety of students that will make up the Edgewood and Lakeview Middle School teams as well as incoming freshmen at Warsaw Community High School.
Warsaw opens its 2019 varsity campaign Friday, Aug. 23, at Fisher Field against Huntington North.
